The Kyrgyz authorities said that four foreigners had been arrested in charge of incitement, but the Kyrgyz authorities did not provide information about the citizenship of the arrested persons.

Expressing deep concern over the incidents of violence against Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif contacted Pakistani Ambassador Hasan Ali Zaigham by phone and directed him to ensure the safety of Pakistani students and other citizens. The Pakistani Foreign Office summoned the Governor of Kyrgyzstan posted in Islamabad, expressed deep concern over the incidents of violence against Pakistani students, and demanded to ensure the protection of the lives and property of Pakistani citizens.

The Kyrgyz authorities have assured Pakistan of conducting a transparent investigation into the violent incidents and taking legal action against those involved. In a statement released by the Pakistani embassy in Kyrgyzstan, confirming the attacks on students from other countries in Bishkek, it was stated that the Kyrgyz government had informed us that no Pakistani was killed in the attacks.
