Real Madrid Champions League Journey: Real Madrid made an impressive return to the top flight with a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday to book a place in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti praised the player. “We played well… got the opportunity to control the game… here it is again… it’s extraordinary with our supporters at the Bernabeu that we can do many things,” he said.

“Joselu is a brilliant striker. He got a lot of energy at the end of the game. Now I will enjoy till the main final,” he said.

“The players work very hard. They are humble. This is the best squad in my career,” he added.

The match was interesting, and both teams showed caution in the beginning. Bayern had the first chance when Serge Gnabry missed the target with a powerful shot. Real Madrid created a wonderful opportunity for Vinicius Junior, who equalized, and Rodrygo’s follow-up effort was saved by Manuel Neuer, the striker.

Andriy Lunin saved Harry Kane’s volley in the first half, and both teams went into the second half without scoring.

Given the final, both teams did their best. Real Madrid, the 14-time European champion, ruled the second half. Nevertheless, Neuer made a brilliant save by denying Rodrygo and Vinicius’ chances. Bayern went ahead again when Alphonso Davies headed Lunin past Harry Kane’s clever pass.

It seemed Bayern would reach the final, but Neuer ignored a brilliant ball, which Joselu equalized in the 88th minute. In a spell of disaster, Joselu scored again two minutes later, firing wide from a yard out after a square pass from Antonio Rudiger.

The goal was initially ruled offside, but the VAR decision confirmed that Joselu was onside, leading to celebrations at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid won 4–3 in the final, securing a record 18th Champions League final appearance.

Real Madrid will play its Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, June 1 at Wembley.
