Marcus Stoins gets angry at Arjun Tendulkar’s aggressive behaviour during the MI vs LSG match at the Wankhede Stadium.

Arjun Tendulkar, Mumbai Indians all-rounder bowler, played for his team for the first time in the ongoing IPL 2024 season against Lucknow Supergiants at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday. He bowled a brilliant first over for his team. However, his aggressive act of threatening Marcus Stoins with a run-out off the last ball displeased the Australian batsman, who started shouting at the young bowler.

Arjun, who replaced Jasprit Bumrah in Mumbai’s playing XI for the final league match, was brought in to bowl in the second over of the match when home team captain Hardik Pandya opted to bowl first. He bowled four dot balls against Stoins, including a feared LBW, while conceding three runs in the over.

On the last ball, Stoins defended an in-swinging length ball while Arjun picked up the ball quickly and indicated a throw to the wickets. However, the batsman did not like this aggressive gesture from the bowler and got angry. He immediately started shouting at Arjun, who turned his face away and smiled.

This was Arjun’s first appearance in IPL 2024. He made his debut for Mumbai Indians in the IPL last year and took three wickets in four matches while impressing many veteran cricketers. However, he was benched for the second half of Mumbai’s forgettable 2023 season and was subsequently not included in the starting XI in any of the first 13 league matches of that season.

Mumbai, meanwhile, are already out of the playoff race. The Hardik-led team is currently at the bottom of the points table with just four wins this season. A win against LSG will not only help them end the season with a win but also prevent them from getting the wooden spoon, as they will move past Punjab Kings to the ninth spot in the points table. Who has one match left, though?
