The fiber optic cable connecting Singapore to Pakistan and Europe was cut. According to the sources, the South East Asia and Middle East Europe cable was cut near Indonesia; five cuts were made on the optical fiber submarine cable.

Sources say that it will take time to fix the optical fiber cable. Sources said that the internet service coming from the eastern direction was affected due to the cutting of the optical fiber cable. According to sources, PTCL and Transworld’s traffic from the eastern direction has been affected, and Pakistani users will face severe difficulties in browsing the internet during the evening hours.

Sources PTCL says that the traffic coming from the eastern direction is less than 10%; internet traffic coming from the eastern direction has been shifted to alternative sources.
