“There is still a lot left to do. This will fight until the end. Verona is powerful,” Barcelona defender Inigo Martínez told Movistar.

“Now it is in our hands. The team is excellent. Ten limited points. A few mistakes were made in the first round. In the second round, I think we can finish first.”

Yamal gave Barcelona the lead in the 40th minute when he coolly scored after a quick breakaway from Ilkay Gundogan’s pass for his fifth goal of the LaLiga season.

“It was a great match to get back in second place, and we should try to make it 9 points in the next matches,” said 16-year-old Yamal, referring to the upcoming matches.

“Real played very well in the first round, but then we improved. The whole team was in a good situation.”

Raphinha’s penalty was awarded after a VAR review after a VAR review to give the home side the lead, leaving the Basque side in seventh place on 54 points, one point ahead of Real Betis, who are in the bottom Europa League place.

“Real always makes it difficult for us. They are always very organized and full of aggressiveness, so you cannot create a threat for them,” Xavi told reporters. “This is a great victory for us. We played a good match in the morning.”
